LPEA to conduct pole inspections

7/8/2008

Possible access across private property required

DURANGO, Colo. – To help ensure safety and reliability of electricity transmission, La Plata Electric Association will be conducting power pole inspections in various areas of La Plata County beginning July 10, 2008.

Osmose Utility Services Inc. has been contracted by LPEA to inspect poles in the Ignacio area and south to the New Mexico state line; west from Ignacio to Oxford; the Grandview area north to County Road 240 and west to Farmington Hill; the transmission line around the City of Durango; and the transmission line from Cascade north.

Inspections, which involve digging beside each pole, boring two test holes in the pole and performing a complete visual inspection of poles and associated lines and hardware, may require access through backyards and fenced areas. Every effort will be made to avoid inconveniencing property owners.

LPEA customers with additional questions or concerns are urged to call Roland Pack, 382.7183 or Ben Cordova, 382.3534.
