Initiating his career in the banking industry, Mr. Formwalt rose through the ranks at Belgrade State Bank of Belgrade, Montana and Burns National Bank of Durango. Ultimately he served as Executive Vice President, with a focus on real estate and agricultural loans. Mr. Formwalt’s involvement in Archuleta County includes service on the Upper San Juan Planning Commission, San Juan Soil Conservation District Board of Supervisors, Archuleta County Airport Board, San Juan National Forest Grazing Advisory Council, Archuleta County’s Weed and Pest Control District Board and the 208 Water Quality Control Council. An Archuleta County Commissioner for 12 years, Mr. Formwalt’s volunteer experience also includes the San Juan Resource Conservation and Development Board, Colorado 208 Water Quality Control Board, Colorado State Soil Conservation Board, Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board, Colorado Abandoned Mine Lands Advisory Council, Colorado Job Training Job Partnership Board and Private Industry Council, Southwest Colorado Workforce Investment Board, Region 9 Economic Development District Board and Governor Romer’s Smart Growth Initiative. Currently a rancher with his wife Jessie, Mr. Formwalt also serves part time as a commissioner for the Colorado Division of Water Resources. With LPEA, he is the Western United representative, chairman of the External Organizations & Issues Committee and serves on the Budget Finance & Audit Committee. He was co-owner and partner of K and K Aviation, Inc., and served as Archuleta County Airport manager. Raised in Tucson, Arizona, Mr. Fox earned a BA in political science from the University of Arizona and a Masters in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, in addition to his studies with Air Command and Staff College with the USAF. Stewart graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, and began his career with Chicago Bridge & Iron, joining Fluor Corporation in 1968 and retiring in 1999. Stewart continued his association with Fluor as a consultant until 2004. Originally from Orange County, Calif., Stewart is involved locally with the San Juan Backcountry Horsemen.
