New Member Information

Dear New Member,

LPEA CEO Greg MunroThe board of directors, staff and employees of La Plata Electric Association, Inc. (LPEA) would like to personally welcome you as a new member/owner of the Association. You may or may not know that La Plata Electric, unlike other utilities, is a rural electric cooperative and totally owned by the membership we serve. This means we are a non-profit organization and any margins generated from billings to you will be returned to you in cash at some time in the future.

As a rural electric cooperative, the board of directors is elected each year by the membership at the annual meeting for the members. We have twelve board members, three from each district that the Cooperative serves.

The board hires a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to carry out the day-to-day business affairs of your Cooperative. Greg Munro has been an LPEA manager since 1993 and CEO since January 3, 2005, and is available to answer any concerns or questions you may have."

Again, welcome to your Cooperative. We are glad to have you as a member and will look forward to serving you in the future.

From the board, staff and employees of La Plata Electric Association, Inc.
