LPEA launches “Fast Facts” information portal at lpea.coop
Effort designed to respond to members’ technical questions about the industry
DURANGO, Colo. – In an effort to provide accurate and up-to-date information regarding the electric industry as it relates to La Plata Electric Association (LPEA), the cooperative has launched a new information portal on its webpage, www.lpea.coop. The “Fast Facts” page endeavors to elaborate on, explain or correct misinformation regarding the industry and LPEA policy.
“We find a great many assertions have been or are being made about LPEA and the facts about our industry,” said Ron Meier, manager of engineering and member relations. “LPEA is a cooperative, made up of your friends and neighbors, and we continually strive to do what is best to deliver reliable service, incorporate technology and look to the future.”
The public is invited to review the Assertions and Fast Facts, which are designed to be concise. More in-depth information is available upon request. Members with additional questions or assertions can email FastFacts@lpea.coop. Members will receive a personal response, and as appropriate, the Assertion and Fast Facts response will be added to the webpage.
“As most might imagine, it is frustrating for misinformation about LPEA to be circulated,” said Meier. “We have an open-door policy, and there are often reasons we must operate our business the way we do. We want to provide as much information as desired or possible to our members. We encourage all members to engage us.”
LPEA, a Touchstone Energy Cooperative established in 1939, provides to its more than 30,000 members, with in excess of 42,000 meters, safe, reliable electricity at the lowest reasonable cost, while being environmentally responsible.
