LPEA partnered with Habitat for Humanity to build an innovative all-electric home that's transforming affordable housing. This video showcases the sustainable construction process, energy-efficient features, and positive impact on both the environment and the family who now calls it home.
You can also learn more about the benefits of electrification by checking out this recent study by Southwest Energy Efficiency Project (SWEEP). SWEEP estimates that:
- The total initial cost of an all-electric new home is about the same or slightly less than a gas-heated home.
- Annual heating costs (including hot water) are about 10% less than for a gas home.
- Carbon emissions are about 60% lower than a gas home.
