Income-Qualified Weatherization - RESIDENTIAL
There are two programs available to income-qualified members who are seeking help in reducing energy bills and improving household comfort and safety through weatherization, energy efficiency upgrades and electrification: Colorado’s Affordable Residential Energy Program (CARE) and the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP). These programs are provided at no cost to qualified members.
In partnership with Energy Outreach Colorado (EOC), LPEA helps fund Colorado’s Affordable Residential Energy Program (CARE) for our income-qualified members to receive weatherization services, energy efficiency and electrification upgrades to their homes. Members need to enroll with program partners directly for services. Contact Housing Resources of Western Colorado, Energy Outreach Colorado, or info@fourcore.org, for more information and to apply to CARE program. LPEA helps fund EOC’s and HRWC's administration of the CARE program throughout LPEA’s service territory.
The State of Colorado Energy Office runs the Weatherization Assistance Program. Members can apply online. Housing Resources of Western Colorado is the local program partner. LPEA supports the WAP program by providing rebates for qualifying work and providing educational materials on saving money by changing when you use electricity.
Members who qualify for these programs also meet the income-qualifications for participating in Sunnyside Community Solar, which can provide a 20% savings on energy charges. Learn more about Sunnyside Community Solar and sign up to be notified when free, no-commitment subscriptions are available here.
