PowerTown: Bringing Electrical Safety to Life

At LPEA, safety is our top priority. We're excited to introduce PowerTown—a dynamic, hands-on educational program designed to teach our community about the importance of electrical safety.

What is Power Town?

PowerTown is an interactive tabletop demonstration that vividly illustrates how electricity works and the potential hazards associated with it. Using a scaled-down model with live electricity, our trained professionals showcase real-life scenarios, such as:

  • The Dangers of downed power lines
  • Safe practices around overhead and underground utilities
  • The importance of calling 811 before digging
  • Proper actions to take if a vehicle contacts power lines

This engaging presentation is suitable for audiences of all ages, making it an excellent resource for schools, community groups, and public events.

Why PowerTown Matters

Electricity is a powerful tool that we rely on daily, but it's essential to understand how to use it safely. PowerTown brings these lessons to life, helping participants:

  • Recognize electrical hazards
  • Understand the flow of electricity from generation to consumption
  • Learn preventative measures to avoid accidents

By fostering awareness and understanding, we're building a safer community together.
