Join the LPEA Round Up Foundation and Help Fund Local Nonprofits

The LPEA Board of Directors is seeking volunteers to serve on the Round Up Foundation Board, which allocates grant funding to local nonprofits and educational projects.

The Round Up board meets virtually on the last Monday of each month from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Volunteers should expect to dedicate up to 10 hours per month, including meeting time and reviewing applications.

We are looking for individuals in the following districts to serve a two-year term beginning January 26, 2026:

  • District 2 – Two appointments
  • District 3 – One appointment
  • District 4 – One appointment

Applications for Round Up Foundation board positions will be reviewed by the LPEA Board of Directors, with appointments made at their December 17, 2025 meeting. Appointees will join their first Round Up Foundation Board meeting on January 26, 2026.

About the Round Up Foundation:
The Round Up Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life in our communities. So far this year, the board has awarded 50 grants totaling $177,677.

Round Up Grants:
For 30 years, LPEA members have voluntarily “rounded up” their electric bills to the nearest dollar, raising over $1.5 million for nonprofits in La Plata and Archuleta counties.

Educational Grants:
The Round Up Foundation Board also oversees the distribution of grants funded by unclaimed Capital Credits to support education and community projects across our service territory.
