JANUARY 17th - 4:10 PM OUTAGES RESTORED

The weather is starting to calm down. Right now, all members are back in power, and we're not expecting as many outages as the storm continues to move out this evening. Thank you to our crews, dispatch, and operations. They have worked these past few days tirelessly! We also appreciate the kind words of encouragement from our members, it helps keep us going!

JANUARY 17th - 10:57 AM UPDATE

The wet heavy snow is causing breakdowns in power connections and insulation. To remedy the situation, LPEA will have to de-energize approximately 294 members to repair the grid. The crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to get everyone’s power restored. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

JANUARY 17th - 9:30 AM UPDATE

We are down from 6,000 to 16 members currently out of power this morning. We expect more widespread outages throughout our service territory today caused by heavy snow accumulating and unloading on the lines. We will continue to monitor the situation closely. JANUARY 15th - 11:58 AM UPDATE

JANUARY 15th - 10:21 AM UPDATE

Heavy, wet snow is causing outages across LPEA's service territory. We currently have 25 outages impacting 406 members, and we expect more outages throughout the day while the snow continues. LPEA crews are fully deployed and will work until all power is restored.

We know it is frustrating and scary to be without power, especially in the winter. We also know it is frustrating not to know how long the outage will last. Unfortunately, LPEA cannot give estimated restoration times because crews don't know the issue until they arrive at each outage location, and restoration times vary widely depending on the cause (e.g., a broken pole vs. an open circuit from lines unloading snow). As a general rule of thumb, we start with the largest outages and work our way down to individual homes.

Though we do our best, no utility company is able to guarantee 100% service. As such, we encourage you to prepare for when the lights do go out. Here are some PRO TIPS to help you weather any LPEA outage.

We apologize for any inconvenience this outage may cause. If you have not already, make sure you are signed up for LPEA's Outage Texting Service to report future outages and receive service restoration updates direct to your mobile phone.
